Bill and Susan came to my attention via a YouTube series in which they discuss their four-year silent retreat together at the Forest Refuge in Barre, MA. Even prior to that retreat, they were deep meditators who spent three months per year on silent retreat.
Bill has been meditating since the early 70s and Susan since the early 90s. They have both practiced in the Zen and Tibetan traditions but consider the Thai Forest tradition of Theravada Buddhism to be their spiritual home. They reside and teach at the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies.
Bill, Psy.D., and Susan, M.S.N., R.N., C.S., are also psychotherapists who serve as board members and faculty at the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy.
