Martine Batchelor: Conversation & Q&A

Martine Batchelor.jpg

This event is open to all and donation-based.

Martine spent ten years as a Buddhist nun in Korea under the Son (Korean Zen) master Kusan. As a nun, she engaged in extensive practice of hwadu, or meditative questioning (what we typically, though not quite correctly, think of as "koan practice"). After Master Kusan died, Martine returned to lay life and to Europe, where she studied Theravadin vipassana. She is the author of numerous books and articles on meditation and Buddhism. In recent years, she's taken particular interest in mindfulness of feeling tones (Pali vedana) and has written and taught on that topic.
