Mirabai joined us for Q&A last year and it was amazing. She is one of the OGs of meditation in the west. She was at Neem Karoli Baba's ashram with Ram Dass in the 70s, and she helped Salzberg, Goldstein, and Kornfield start the Insight Meditation Society. She was there at UMass when Jon Kabat-Zinn was doing his early work, and she later co-created the curriculum for Google's "Search Inside Yourself" program. Her Center for Contemplative Mind in Society has done pioneering work teaching meditative practices in secular settings.
