A serious meditation group for non-serious people.
Interested in the deep end of meditation?
You’ve found your people.
Sit-Heads is a sitting and social group for people who are into (or curious about) deep meditation practice.
We sit together, talk shop, host fun events, and support each other’s practice. We also feature incredible guest speakers and programs.
To quote S.N. Goenka, we are “soooo non-sectarian” — all styles are welcome!
In person in NYC, online everywhere else
New York City: Join us for in-person meditation sessions, social events, and more.
Online: Not in NYC? All good! Our vibrant online community hosts virtual sits and events every week.
A supportive community
At Sit-Heads, we don’t just meditate then say goodbye.
We're a social group — a community of friends and fellow travelers.
From movie nights, to book clubs, to mindful dinner parties (and, yes, plenty of silent sits), we offer lots of fun ways to hang out with other meditators like you.
Together, we’re exploring what a modern, meditative life looks like.
Practice should be fun
We take a lighthearted approach to practice. We love to sit, but we also love to have fun, crack jokes, and eat tacos (the official Sit-Heads cuisine).
At the same time, we hold a deep respect for the diverse traditions, practices, and paths within our community.
This balance makes us unique: a place for serious practice without the serious attitude.
Butts on cushions!
At Sit-Heads, we’re all about “butts on cushions”: actually meditating, not just talking (or typing) about it.
A big reason the group exists is to help us prioritize meditative practice in a society that doesn’t encourage that — or even understand it.
That’s why we offer lots of opportunities to practice together, in person and online, spontaneous and scheduled, short and long, sitting and moving.
